Tanning Bed Lotions – The Bronzers

When it comes to tanning, a bronze glow is always appealing to many people who desire a great tan. Fortunately, the market today now offers bronzers for indoor tanning. These products have received a good welcome from tanning salons to beach bums. However, many are not aware of how these self-tanning lotions affect our skin in order to get the perfect bronze tan we always dream of getting.

How exactly does a bronzer work? A bronzer is a type of tanning bed lotion that provides a deeper tan quickly, giving off a more luxurious look than the standard tanning lotions and creams. It works on the surface of your skin to activate melanin that produces the lovely bronze effect. It boosts the color of the natural skin tan and is categorized into three types – immediate bronzers, tan activating bronzers and delayed bronzers.

Immediate bronzers are tanning lotions that are considered to be the most natural and the first dimension type of bronzers in the market. They produce an immediate bronze tan that lasts up to two days. They do not stain or streak and usually contains henna, carrot oil and walnut shell extract. Delayed bronzers are the second dimension type that contains dihydroxyacetone or DHA that react with the natural proteins of the body and gives the skin its natural bronze tone. These bronzers require exposure to the air and undergo a natural oxidation process to develop color. It gives off noticeable tan in two to four hours and produces complete results within twenty four hours that last up to seven days. Another type of bronzer is the tan activating lotion or most commonly known as Dermadark. This bronzer works by triggering the melanin in the body to help produce the bronze skin tone. It is present in products where three or more bronzers are present. It produces quick and longer lasting tan that stays up to eight days and gets darker with every use.

A bronzer tanning bed lotion works well in deepening your current tan or developing a new tan that you want to achieve. Bronzers differ in color as some are darker than the others. They all have their unique blend of sun protection, bronzing agents, vitamins and fragrances. Since they are all applicable in indoor tanning, they are excellent options for people who want to shun the ultraviolet rays of the sun and still get a darker skin color.
